WHAT IS A HEALTH CHECK?

A Health Check measures key parameters which determine your risk of developing health problems and in particular can help spot early signs of stroke, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and kidney disease. Our healthcare professional will provide this service in the comfort of your own home. They will discuss the results with you and explain what steps to take next. Each health check is unique and thus we provide tailored recommendations based on your lifestyle.

What test are conducted as per of the Health Check?

  • Blood pressure

  • Finger prick test for your blood sugar and cholesterol

  • Kidney disease

  • Weight, height and Body Mass Index

  • Cardiovascular risk profile

Why have a Health Check?

The following statistics are from the British Heart Foundation 2022, click here for more information:

  • Heart and circulatory diseases cause around a quarter of all deaths in the UK; that's more than 160,000 deaths each year, or 460 each day – that’s one death every three minutes.

  • In the UK, it’s estimated that 6-8 million people are living with undiagnosed or uncontrolled high blood pressure.

  • It's estimated that around 850,000 people in the UK have undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes.

Early disease recognition and management can reduce the risk of disease progression and consequently complications.

What will my results tell me?

After your Health Check, the healthcare professional will discuss your results with you tailoring advice based on your lifestyle. They may suggest a visit to your GP if needed. The results will tell you if you are at risk of developing certain disease or it may recognise potentially undiagnosed conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, raised cholesterol etc. and therefore allow early management to prevent further complications and disease progression.

How long does this service take?

The health check should take no more than 30 minutes.

Our team have put the appropriate Covid Infection Prevention and Control measures in place to ensure that we can provide services, care and advice to you safely.
